I graduated from my psychiatry residency program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. I also completed fellowship training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. I am board certified by American board of Psychiatry and Neurology with special training and qualification in pediatric psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine (C-L psychiatry).
I have also served as Chief psychiatrist for a teaching hospital in Delaware in the last 5 years. The hospital is an academic center for the state with ACGME approved psychiatric residency position program and academic affiliations with U Penn forensic psychiatry fellowship program, School of medicine of Drexel University. Previously, I also served as a chief psychiatrist for the Department of Juvenile justice and family courts of New York City.
I have also served as medical director of C-L service at Division of Child Psychiatry and the clinical and fellowship training director at the North Shore University Hospital (NYU School of Medicine program). I was also a core teaching faculty and clinical supervisor for both addiction and the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship programs for many years. My lecture series cover a broad range of psychiatry from psychopharmacology, neurobiology of addiction, neurobiology of developmental psychiatry to behavioral genetics. The lectures have been well received by residents and fellows in training.
I have wealthy experiences in treating all age groups of patients, patients with serious, challenge mental illness in both urban and suburban populations with comorbidity of substance use disorders, leaning and developmental disability, medical illnesses, such as HIV, renal failures, pediatric oncology patients and etc.
I have published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals including American Journal of Psychiatry. I also wrote a book chapter on for a major psychiatric textbook (Textbook of Psychiatry, 2nd edition, and 3rd edition, edited by Allan Tasman, Jerald Kay, and Jeffery Lieberman).
